"Faith is not a soft bunny of a word that describes slinky, jelly like people praying on the floor to indoctrination. Faith is a strong, big word. The word faith by its very nature, encompasses the incomprehensability of evil, of murder, unmentionable acts of cruelty, and rape. And these acts of evil coexist with thoughtfulness, reflection, and maybe even illumination." (Lesley Dill, 2013)
This is the closing remark of artist Lesley Dill's lecture for the Elizabeth A Sackler centre for Feminist Art, which I found a really powerful, and poignant moment of closure.
